Four Days After "The Addams Family" Hit Theaters, A Sequel Has Already Been Confirmed

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Hear that? It's the sound of my mind being blown...or that of me snapping along to the Addams Family theme song. Following the commercial success of this year's animated re-imagining of one of our favorite unconventional families,  The Addams Family , which was released on theaters October 11, Deadline  exclusively confirmed on Tuesday that an animated kooky and spooky sequel is already in the works. In just its opening weekend, The Addams Family has earned $30.3 million from its theatrical releases in the United States and Canada (a little bit more than three-quarters of its $40 million budget), surpassing box office predictions and showing that millions of moviegoers are still interested in catching up with what Gomez Addams and his family are doing once again. In doing so,  The Addams Family also became the second highest grossing film in the domestic box office this weekend, following Joker which earned $55.9 million. While it...

Female-Centered "John Wick" Spinoff Film "Ballerina" Currently In Development, Len Wiseman to Direct

Lionsgate Looks like the John Wick universe is expanding, and a mysterious leading ballerina will be of service - or against the service? On October 8, Deadline exclusively confirmed that a female-centered John Wick  spinoff, Ballerina , is currently in development and will be directed by Len Wiseman. Although Lionsgate had voiced interest in developing Ballerina since July 2017 when it acquired the screenplay written by Shay Hatten, the spinoff film is currently in the works and   on a fast track following the success of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and the much anticipation of the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4 , which will be released on May 21, 2021. Per Deadline , the upcoming female-centered John Wick spinoff will focus on "a young female [ballerina] assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family", and who briefly made a cameo in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum as a ballerina performing for the Director part of the Ruska Roma societ...

"Friends" May Be There For You At a Movie Theater Near You

Photograph by David Bjerke - NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images Calling Friends  fans everywhere (so I picked up the phone!) Friends , the American sitcom that you probably know and know the words to its theme song even if you have never watched it, first premiered on September 22, 1994 and ran until 2004, and will soon mark its 25th anniversary. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the New York City-set sitcom, which has already seen and inspired the release of limited time Pottery Barn, LEGO, and Ralph Lauren collections (among countless fan fictions, of course), you may soon be able to catch your TV friends from Friends soon on theaters - now THAT'S a reason for Ross, Phoebe and Rachel to be screaming and jumping up and down about (besides trying to distract Ross from the fact that Monica and Chandler are in a relationship!) Select Friends episodes will be screened at movie theaters on three separate select dates starting September 23, including featuring exclusive interv...

Live-Action "Aladdin" Sequel MAY Be in The Works, Producer Dan Lin Confirms

Disney It looks like we might be returning to Aladdin's world - or rather, a whole new world. Following the global commercial success of this year's live-action  Aladdin , including flying past the $1 billion dollar mark in the global box office (no magic carpet needed), it appears that a sequel of the live-action adaptation is a possibility and, according to producer Dan Lin, is already in early talks. "We'd love to," Lin told SYFY WIRE , "People clearly loved the movie and watched it multiple times and we get lots of fan letters and people asking us to make Return [of] Jafar ." While Lin shared that they are still in the early stages of discussion, "we're certainly talking about another movie." One of the important conditions in making the potential Aladdin sequel would be for Ritchie to return and direct it. That's "the hope", Lin continued . "[Ritchie] made [ Aladdin ] for his kids. They loved Aladdin , b...

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures In the words of Joey Tribbiani, finally now "we know, we know, we know!" In a recent  LA Times article  film director Jon Favreau, who directed this year's  The Lion King adaptation starring Donald Glover and BeyoncĂ© Knowles-Carter, revealed that although the summer Disney film was made using and composed of computer-generated imagery (CGI) - utilizing VR and live-action technology and techniques, of course - the director did put one real-live action shot in the film "just to see if anybody would be able to pick it up." Naturally, in the nature of the Internet, thousands dared to take guesses, but Favreau ultimately ended up revealing on Friday the one real shot he used in The Lion King , revealing it to be "the first shot of the movie that begins The Circle of Life." You Will Soon Be Able To Watch Select A24 Films On Select Billboards Across the United States

David Bornfriend/Kobal/Rex/Shutterstock Yes, you read the title right and no , this isn't an article from The Onion. In June 27, A24, the film distribution company behind many Academy Award winning and celebrated films like Moonlight , The Room , Lady Bird and The Florida Project , teased on social media a mysterious upcoming project called A24 Public Access. #a24PublicAccess is coming pic.twitter.com/AWRWcninhr — A24 (@A24) June 27, 2019 In the tweet, empty white canvases can be seen with A24 film titles, dates, times, and coordinates listed below them.  Not long after A24 posted about the secret project, followers started looking up the coordinates and many noted that they pointed to locations were there were billboards - and more specifically, they were all-white billboards with just a small A24 logo, dates, and...you guessed it, times. And just like that, after some teasing A24 stayed quiet about the project for a while, until today. On early Wednes...
