Female-Centered "John Wick" Spinoff Film "Ballerina" Currently In Development, Len Wiseman to Direct

Lionsgate

Looks like the John Wick universe is expanding, and a mysterious leading ballerina will be of service - or against the service?

On October 8, Deadline exclusively confirmed that a female-centered John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, is currently in development and will be directed by Len Wiseman. Although Lionsgate had voiced interest in developing Ballerina since July 2017 when it acquired the screenplay written by Shay Hatten, the spinoff film is currently in the works and on a fast track following the success of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and the much anticipation of the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4, which will be released on May 21, 2021.

Per Deadline, the upcoming female-centered John Wick spinoff will focus on "a young female [ballerina] assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family", and who briefly made a cameo in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum as a ballerina performing for the Director part of the Ruska Roma society, and was played by New York City Ballet soloist Unity Phelan. It still hasn't been confirmed whether Phelan will return to play the unnamed assassin ballerina, or if John Wick star Keanu Reeves will appear in the spinoff film, though if so it's expected to just be a cameo.

Lionsgate
Ballerina will be directed by Len Wiseman, who directed Underworld, Underworld: Evolution and Live Free or Die Hard starring Bruce Willis, and produced by Basil Iwanyk through Thunder Road Films and Erica Lee, as well as John Wick film series director Chad Stahelski, and be executive produced by Keanu Reeves. The film will be developed from a script written by Shay Hatten, who co-wrote for John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum as well Army of the Dead, which was directed by Zack Snyder and will be released on Netflix.

One of the qualities I have greatly enjoyed and loved about the John Wick films is the delicacy and creativity with which the action choreography throughout the films has been carefully orchestrated - similarly to a ballet, and which has been compared to a ballet - so it will be interested to see what different take, what known from the John Wick franchise, and even potentially what inspiration from ballet itself may be found in Ballerina. I'm also more than okay with its titular character getting a cat pal.

Sincerely, Dora Goto

Having Breakfast at Tiffany's is NOW OFFICIALLY a Reality

Paramount Pictures If you're a big Aubrey Hepburn fan or simply a fan of good films from the 1960's like Breakfast at Tiffany's , then you'll probably be giddy as I to find out that an actual café store has opened at the fourth floor of the iconic Tiffany & Co. store located in Fifth Avenue in New York City. The café store is called Blue Box Café (rambling a little bit here so you have time to write it down, okay that's enough), officially opened its doors today, and according to a  review by Vogue  of the café's opening, it offers a $29 breakfast menu option that includes coffee and croissant with the "choice of an avocado toast, truffled eggs, or a smoked salmon bagel with schmear." But Blue Box Café will not only offer breakfast options (* very delicious breakfast options ), as  the  Vogue  review  noted that the cafe also offers lunch options at $39 (which include a starter and main course), including the "Charles Lewis Tiffany"...

Jon Favreau FINALLY Revealed the One Real, Non-CGI Shot He Sneaked in "The Lion King" Adaptation

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures In the words of Joey Tribbiani, finally now "we know, we know, we know!" In a recent  LA Times article  film director Jon Favreau, who directed this year's  The Lion King adaptation starring Donald Glover and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, revealed that although the summer Disney film was made using and composed of computer-generated imagery (CGI) - utilizing VR and live-action technology and techniques, of course - the director did put one real-live action shot in the film "just to see if anybody would be able to pick it up." Naturally, in the nature of the Internet, thousands dared to take guesses, but Favreau ultimately ended up revealing on Friday the one real shot he used in The Lion King , revealing it to be "the first shot of the movie that begins The Circle of Life." Four Days After "The Addams Family" Hit Theaters, A Sequel Has Already Been Confirmed

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Hear that? It's the sound of my mind being blown...or that of me snapping along to the Addams Family theme song. Following the commercial success of this year's animated re-imagining of one of our favorite unconventional families,  The Addams Family , which was released on theaters October 11, Deadline  exclusively confirmed on Tuesday that an animated kooky and spooky sequel is already in the works. In just its opening weekend, The Addams Family has earned $30.3 million from its theatrical releases in the United States and Canada (a little bit more than three-quarters of its $40 million budget), surpassing box office predictions and showing that millions of moviegoers are still interested in catching up with what Gomez Addams and his family are doing once again. In doing so,  The Addams Family also became the second highest grossing film in the domestic box office this weekend, following Joker which earned $55.9 million. While it...
