Disney Offers First Look Into Disney Parks' Upcoming Star Wars Land - and We're Feeling It!

If you're a happy Star Wars fan and you know it, clap your hands...*attempts to clap hands but it's actually really awkward as I'm typing this*

Disney has proven once again that all the hype surrounding all of its productions - from movie productions to new park lands and attractions - is totally for a reason, as it recently unveiled a first glimpse at the much anticipated and fangirled about (at least by me) Star Wars Land at Disney Parks!

The Star Wars Land, which already started construction on April 14, 2016 at both Disneyland in California and Disney World's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, is expected to be opened in 2019 at both locations, so until the due time Disney let us have a first look at how the near 14-acres land is going to develop visually.

Disney unveiled the visual look of the upcoming Star Wars Land during its annual D23 expo in Anaheim, California, where a 3D model (as seen in the video above) showed just how exactly Disney intended to develop its look, with the chairman of Disney's parks division calling it "the most ambitious land we've built to date."

According to the official Disney Parks Blog, the setting for the much-anticipated Star Wars Land is a "never-before-seen planet", a trading port and "one of the last stops before Wild Space", in which park-goers will be able to immerse themselves into the world of Star Wars. Disney's decision to develop a new Star Wars planet as part of the Star Wars Land was explained by Imagineer Scott Trowbridge as wanting to "build new Star Wars stories, new Star Wars destination" in a completely new place. Disney's strategy worked well, because I am extremely curious to know more about this world and will I find Kylo Ren there?!

This expensive expansion (which according to Bloomberg is estimated to cost around $1 billion for each park), will feature two attractions: one letting park-goers be caught in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance while the other will let park-goers ride on the iconic Millennium Falcon and be part of a secret mission.

But that's not all that awaits park-goers, as live Star Wars characters, entertainment, and an in-park resort are expected to be incorporated into the Star Wars Land in the parks.

So this is the part where I try to wait patiently until 2019 so I can submerge myself into this new awesome Star Wars world...what about you? Are you also looking forward to the upcoming Star Wars Land and any more news about this galactic world? Or are you a Trekkie? Or both? (It's possible.)

Let me know what you think, because I'd love to know!

Happy FriYAY indeed thanks to Disney...

Sincerely, Dora Goto

It's Not All Bad News for "Futurama" Fans, Thanks To Show's So-Developer David X. Cohen

JamCity If you are a big fan of Futurama like myself and were saddened by the news that Netflix was removing episodes from the cult-classic futuristic cartoon, then the show's co-developer David X. Cohen has come to the rescue! Recently it's been seen on Netlflix that various seasons of Futurama have been removed (only seasons 6 and 7 remain, which are divided into 2 parts and listed on Netflix as seasons 7 to 10), and naturally Futurama fans took to social media to express their discontent...most utilizing the show's own memes to do so. Before we go any further, I need to get this out of my system: ...There.  (I didn't mean for all the Futurama memes to be just of Professor Farnsworth, it just happened.)  But it's not all "bad news, everyone!" (Get it?!? Okay, I'll get back to the topic...) During a recent  Reddit AMA , the show's creator Matt Groening and head writer David X. Cohen, along with principal voice actor...

Four Days After "The Addams Family" Hit Theaters, A Sequel Has Already Been Confirmed

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Hear that? It's the sound of my mind being blown...or that of me snapping along to the Addams Family theme song. Following the commercial success of this year's animated re-imagining of one of our favorite unconventional families,  The Addams Family , which was released on theaters October 11, Deadline  exclusively confirmed on Tuesday that an animated kooky and spooky sequel is already in the works. In just its opening weekend, The Addams Family has earned $30.3 million from its theatrical releases in the United States and Canada (a little bit more than three-quarters of its $40 million budget), surpassing box office predictions and showing that millions of moviegoers are still interested in catching up with what Gomez Addams and his family are doing once again. In doing so,  The Addams Family also became the second highest grossing film in the domestic box office this weekend, following Joker which earned $55.9 million. While it...

Live-Action "Aladdin" Sequel MAY Be in The Works, Producer Dan Lin Confirms

Disney It looks like we might be returning to Aladdin's world - or rather, a whole new world. Following the global commercial success of this year's live-action  Aladdin , including flying past the $1 billion dollar mark in the global box office (no magic carpet needed), it appears that a sequel of the live-action adaptation is a possibility and, according to producer Dan Lin, is already in early talks. "We'd love to," Lin told SYFY WIRE , "People clearly loved the movie and watched it multiple times and we get lots of fan letters and people asking us to make Return [of] Jafar ." While Lin shared that they are still in the early stages of discussion, "we're certainly talking about another movie." One of the important conditions in making the potential Aladdin sequel would be for Ritchie to return and direct it. That's "the hope", Lin continued . "[Ritchie] made [ Aladdin ] for his kids. They loved Aladdin , b...
