'Solo: A Star Wars Story' CONFIRMED Title for Upcoming Han Solo Film

It's been a long road (in a galaxy far, far away?) for many Star Wars fans like myself in the wait for the new upcoming Star Wars films and news relating to the beloved science fiction franchise, but finally we're getting more news: the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone film has been confirmed to be named Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In a recent video uploaded to Instagram today by film director Ron Howard, who completed the Han Solo film after both filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were let go, the film director said in the Instagram video posted to his page that he wanted to "thank an incredibly talented cast and crew" and hoped that fans had enjoyed the behind-the-scenes photos he had previously posted, while also unveiling the name of the Han Solo project. Jokingly, Howard looked off-camera to the side and asked, "Can we even say the name of the movie?" before finally gloriously unveiling it as seen below:

Ron Howard's video was reposted by Star Wars' official Instagram page, and the announcement of the Han Solo movie's title received some mixed reactions, along with comments about the Solo movie itself.

While some Star Wars fans met the announcement with enthusiasm just like I do for any new Star Wars news (and anything related to Kylo Ren, to be honest), others weren't excited about the reveal, with the majority of the negative comments calling the Solo: A Star Wars Story film unnecessary or not liking the title of the new Star Wars story film.

And in response, here are my personal, subjective thoughts:

I'm excited for the film. Not only because it's a Star Wars film and you can't NOT be excited for anything Star Wars (I'm looking at you Star Trek fans!), but because as Disney has proved so far since acquiring Lucasfilm in 2012, both production and the creative team respect the Star Wars franchise. J.J. Abrams, who was confirmed last month to be directing the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX and directed Star Wars: The Force Awakens, grew up watching the Star Wars movies and is a big fan of the movies, and it is because of people working behind the scenes who are passionate about the franchise like Abrams that the film projects so far (Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) have turned out amazingly beautiful like they have.

I understand the skepticism that big Star Wars fans might have as many grew up watching the movies like Abrams did, love them, and don't want the franchise to be tarnished for mere commercial profit gain, and like any person are entitled to their feelings. But knowing that these films are entrusted with people who take careful care of the franchise, are passionate about it, and are good creators such as Ron Howard as a fantastic film director (and the initial work of talented film directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller), I feel much more safe to say that I feel it's going to be good. Obviously Solo: A Star Wars Story is going to feel different without Harrison Ford portraying the sarcastic, clever smuggler Han Solo, but I'm open to the upcoming film as we shouldn't make assumptions without actually experiencing it in the first place, that which both the film medium and Star Wars universe are: an experience.

So like Ron Howard say, Solo: A Star Wars Story, we'll see you next year.

The film is expected to be released on May 25, 2018.

Sincerely, Dora Goto

It's Not All Bad News for "Futurama" Fans, Thanks To Show's So-Developer David X. Cohen

JamCity If you are a big fan of Futurama like myself and were saddened by the news that Netflix was removing episodes from the cult-classic futuristic cartoon, then the show's co-developer David X. Cohen has come to the rescue! Recently it's been seen on Netlflix that various seasons of Futurama have been removed (only seasons 6 and 7 remain, which are divided into 2 parts and listed on Netflix as seasons 7 to 10), and naturally Futurama fans took to social media to express their discontent...most utilizing the show's own memes to do so. Before we go any further, I need to get this out of my system: ...There.  (I didn't mean for all the Futurama memes to be just of Professor Farnsworth, it just happened.)  But it's not all "bad news, everyone!" (Get it?!? Okay, I'll get back to the topic...) During a recent  Reddit AMA , the show's creator Matt Groening and head writer David X. Cohen, along with principal voice actor...

Having Breakfast at Tiffany's is NOW OFFICIALLY a Reality

Paramount Pictures If you're a big Aubrey Hepburn fan or simply a fan of good films from the 1960's like Breakfast at Tiffany's , then you'll probably be giddy as I to find out that an actual café store has opened at the fourth floor of the iconic Tiffany & Co. store located in Fifth Avenue in New York City. The café store is called Blue Box Café (rambling a little bit here so you have time to write it down, okay that's enough), officially opened its doors today, and according to a  review by Vogue  of the café's opening, it offers a $29 breakfast menu option that includes coffee and croissant with the "choice of an avocado toast, truffled eggs, or a smoked salmon bagel with schmear." But Blue Box Café will not only offer breakfast options (* very delicious breakfast options ), as  the  Vogue  review  noted that the cafe also offers lunch options at $39 (which include a starter and main course), including the "Charles Lewis Tiffany"...

Four Days After "The Addams Family" Hit Theaters, A Sequel Has Already Been Confirmed

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Hear that? It's the sound of my mind being blown...or that of me snapping along to the Addams Family theme song. Following the commercial success of this year's animated re-imagining of one of our favorite unconventional families,  The Addams Family , which was released on theaters October 11, Deadline  exclusively confirmed on Tuesday that an animated kooky and spooky sequel is already in the works. In just its opening weekend, The Addams Family has earned $30.3 million from its theatrical releases in the United States and Canada (a little bit more than three-quarters of its $40 million budget), surpassing box office predictions and showing that millions of moviegoers are still interested in catching up with what Gomez Addams and his family are doing once again. In doing so,  The Addams Family also became the second highest grossing film in the domestic box office this weekend, following Joker which earned $55.9 million. While it...
